MCAD boot camp…

May 22–May 28 I'm heading to "boot camp" (at least that's what my co-worker calls it)! More specifically, I'll be attending a Microsoft Certified Application Developer Training Camp in Chicago, where I'll be getting certified in the .NET Framework. I'm not looking forward to a week spent immersed in Microsoft technologies, but hopefully I'll learn something I can apply to PHP, MySQL and my open source work.
While I've done my best to pay absolutely no attention to any of the details concerning this trip, I guess I should start getting ready, seeing as how I know nothing about .NET. So, this weekend's preparatory reading will consist of:

Hi Jeffrey,
I was wondering what you thought of the boot camp. Was it worth the money (even if your company paid for it
Also, what was the name of the training company? Was it actually MS or a third-party?
Thank you,
Jim Weis

Hello Jim,
Thanks for commenting!
Yes, I did think the boot camp was worth it (and yes, my employer did pay for it). While I was familiar with PHP 4 and Classic ASP prior to attending the camp, I had no experience with object-oriented programming or the .NET Framework.
I ended doing the preparatory reading, but the camp was still intense: long days of lectures and labs and then studying all night. But at the end of it, I did pass all of my tests and I did get certified. It ended up being a great way to learn a lot of material in a short amount of time.
I wish I could remember the name of the training company, but I don't. It was a third-party, but the trainer and facilities were excellent.
Jeffrey
BTW, I deleted your phone number per your request.
